Your face will be cleansed and prepped, followed by chemical solution application to your face. We use a fan to help cool you as we apply as you can sometimes have a burning sensation to your skin. The chemical peel has a numbing compound in it, so this usually settles down shortly after application. The solution is meant to be left on your skin for several hours once you leave the spa (usually 6 hours before you wash it off at home) and will want to go home for the rest of the day to protect your skin during this process. You will receive instructions on how to care for your skin after you leave your appointment. You will start to have flaking and peeling around 2-3 days after peel and may continue for 7-10 days.
You must be on a skincare regimen of at least 4-6 weeks prior to this peel that includes Vitamin C, SPF, Retinol, and a tyrosinase inhibitor. (AHA, Retinol will however need to be stopped 7 days before the first peel). We have recommendations on products if you are not currently using these items. These products will help get the absolute best results from your peel and make sure you don’t have any hypo or hyperpigmentation issues after the peel.
