The state of Florida has legalized medical marijuana to be purchased by patients in medical dispensaries in the state If approved by a qualifying physician for a qualified medical condition. You need to meet with a physician and discuss your medical condition and how you may benefit from medical marijuana.
The current list of eligible conditions for a card include:
Other common conditions for a medical card include those deemed to be similar to those above such as:
Any Florida resident who has an active valid Florida Driver License or Florida State ID Card and would like to legally purchase medical marijuana in the state of Florida.
Many patients seek certification because they do not want to be on prescription medications such as pain meds, muscle relaxers, sedatives, sleeping meds, anxiety and depression meds etc. Some patients are currently on medications but do not feel they are helping or they are having unwanted side effects from medications. Many people are looking for a more natural solution to their ailments.
I do not certify any pediatric patients. MUST be 18 or older.
Anyone with an active CDL (commercial driver license) is not allowed to have both a CDL and a Florida MMJ card.
Anyone who does not have an active valid Florida Driver License or State ID Card.
Once you book an appointment with me, you will receive a state required consent form to sign via email AND you will have a short medical questionairre to fill out. These must be done BEFORE our appointment so I can look over your information.
Once you meet with me and if you are certified, I will place your orders into the OMMU Registry during our appointment, you will then receive emails from the state to complete a short appplication online. I will walk you through the state application as that can be confusing to do on your own. Please bring your cell phone with you if you have your email access on it— that is how we will do the state app. The state does charge a $77.75 per year fee for the medical card so you will need to be prepared to pay that online during our appointment with a credit or debit card in order to be able to submit your application.
The state usually automatically approves MOST patients however there may be a chance of your application requiring more time to be approved. This is usually if you have your driver license or ID “blocked” either voluntarily or involuntarily through the DMV- usually military or job related. If this happens, you may need to wait up to 14 business days for the state to approve your state app before you can purchase product.
The Florida Medical Marijuana Program currently has two separate costs:
You need both a doctor’s prescription/order to enter the MMJ program and then you must apply to the state.
Payment to the state is to cover your license costs, $77.75 paid online to the state ONCE a year.
Prescription - must see doctor every 7 months:
Brand new patients to the program- $199 (first visit only)
Renewal patients to the program- $99
First time you meet me whether you are a brand new patient to the program or a renewal, your appointment must be in person By Florida Law. After we have met in person, future renewals can be done virtually.
