Microneedling

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves stimulating our own skin to increase its collagen and elastin production. We will use a small handheld device that uses tiny sterile needles to repeatedly puncture the skin at a high rate of speed causing micro-injuries to skin. The healing process of the skin will cause it to become firmer and smoother as collagen is stimulated. 

Microneedling is great because it has multiple benefits including:  improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne, scars, dark spots, large pores, and improves skin texture.

At The London Room, comfort is of utmost importance so after we take before photos for your medical chart, we will apply numbing cream to areas of treatment for approximately 15 minutes. Once numb, the cream will be removed and your face cleansed. We then use hyaluronic acid gel to help the microneedling device glide easily over your skin. Once microneedling is complete, a cooling sheet mask will be applied for 10 minutes under red light therapy at the same time. 

You will experience some redness and possibly pinpoint bleeding during/ after treatment. Redness may last 24-36 hours. You may have some initial feelings of skin tightness and burning. Your skin will be dry the next few days. Be sure to use moisturizer every few hours. Changes will be noticeable after a week, but usually improve until the 4 week mark.

Microneedling is initially recommended to be performed in a series of 3, separated by 4-6 weeks followed by a maintenance treatment every few months. (Packages available, see below)
